Every year, 19 Jaisthya is celebrated here as the tirodhan festival of loknath brahmachari, the great man of the hindu community. on this day in 1297, the supreme man sri loknath brahmachari passed away. the festival and fair is organized to commemorate the day of his great demise with devotion and respect. lakhs of loknath devotees from neighboring countries including india, nepal, bhutan and sri lanka came to the bardi ashram to participate in the tirodhan festival. on the 19th of jaistha, the ashram was organized with the air of sweets thrown by devotees from the roof of the square, known as “hari loot”. apart from this, religious ceremonies including gita path, childhood, loknath’s biography reading, rajbhog, prasad distribution and aarti kirtan are also going on throughout the day.
the loknath ashram in Bardi is now known not only as a pilgrimage place for hindus but also a meeting fair for all people of all religions, irrespective of religion and caste. the week-long fair sits on the tirodhan festival of loknath brahmachari. just in front of the ashram is a huge green field. this is where the fair sits. a huge event is organized here around this fair. thousands of products come from different areas. there are many other items of food and fruits. people of many faiths come to this fair in many countries. this is a huge event. it goes on for a week day and night.
